The Bobcats magic number for playoff berth is 1 region win after winning at Childersburg.

Beulah travelled to Childersburg Friday night with one thing in mind: getting the win.

Losing this game would put Beulah’s playoff hopes and chances to sleep, so it was critical the Bobcats showed up when it mattered most. We’ve got good news: the Bobcats did in fact show up.

Winning by a score of 26-16, the Bobcats beat Childersburg in fashion Friday night. After this win, the Bobcats must win 1 out of the 2 remaining region games (vs. Randolph County, vs. Weaver) to keep their playoffs dreams alive.

Beulah is in fourth place in the region, winning either Weaver or Randolph County puts you in the spot to make it to the playoffs, but winning both puts you at an even better spot in the playoff pool.

“I thought we had a good week this week. We looked good in practice this week and I told the guys that playoff chances are still there, we’ve got to fight for it, and that they did.” head coach Matt Johnson says

Beulah was heavily reliant on backup quarterback Wes Grant on the offensive side of the ball as the starting quarterback DeMarion Foreman was injured a few weeks back. “Wes came in and managed the game pretty well tonight. Couldn’t be prouder of him.” Johnson says.

Johnson thought the defense played well like they did in the pre season jamboree and first couple of games in the season. “They looked like they did [at the beginning of the season] and I’m just so proud of our coaches and players.”

One thing is for certain: The Bobcats want to be in the playoffs. The team understands what it’s gonna take to get there, and they’re willing to work for it.

The Bobcats will have their final home game of the season this upcoming Friday in a region matchup against Randolph County, a win vs. Randolph County would secure playoff birth, and a loss would make the Weaver game the next week the “win or go home” game.

The Bobcats must win 1/2 of the remaining region games. 2/3 of the remaining games are region play. Here’s an outlook at their final regular season games:

10/20: vs. Randolph County (Home) **region

10/27: @ Weaver (Away) **region

11/3: @ Horseshoe Bend

If the Bobcats reach the playoffs this season, it will be the first playoff appearance since 2018. In 2018, the Bobcats were lead by Head Coach Cody Flournoy and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Thomasville Tigers.
